Home Theater Retrofit

09 September

This customer wanted to have a Home Theater added into his basement however none of the wiring (Including speakers) was there. We were able to run all of the cables behind the floorboards from the equipment room all the way around to the various locations for the speakers and across the ceiling for the projector. We put all of the equipment in a small Middle Atlantic rack in the equipment room so that it’s out of the way and keeps the room clean. The system is controlled with a single Professional RTI remote in order to allow simple operation of the gear without needing line of site to operate. We used Artison Sketch LCRDM in wall speakers for the front which enabled us to eliminate the need for a center speaker below the screen since it’s integrated into the left and right speakers.

Thanks for bringing to my attention that there are some options when it comes to retrofitting a home theater. My husband and I live in an older home, and we want to convert one of our basement areas into a theater, but we don’t have any of the right wiring. I think it would be a lot of work to try and put in the right kind of wiring now, so it’s good to know that we have some alternate options.
